Vasilisa Atanackovic is a dancer, singer, and actor from Toronto, Canada. She began performing at the age of 6 at the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts where she later graduated with a diploma in Vaganova Technique Classical Ballet under the teaching styles of Vitek Wincza and former Bolshoi Ballet prima ballerina, Olga Krymchanska. She then went on to train at Ryerson University’s prestigious Performance Acting program, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Vasilisa has performed around the world, including Canada, Europe, and The United States. As an actor, she has performed in many productions, from the works of Shakespeare (Romeo & Juliet, Richard III, Macbeth, Hamlet, Twelfth Night, Othello, A Midsummer Night's Dream) to hit Musicals (The Addams Family, Cinderella, Hairspray, The Wiz, Chicago, Phantom of the Opera, Annie, Ragtime, Cabaret). She has worked with some of Canada's leading stage directors
such as Peggy Shannon, Judith Thompson, Soheil Parsa, Ian Watson, Perry Schneiderman and Sheldon Rosen. Coached by Polish Soprano Marta Greda-Kicek, Vasilisa is a classically trained soprano. She recently portrayed Helen of Troy at the LA Opera with conductor and composer Nathan Wang. In the Summer of 2016, Vasilisa performed the title role in Puccini's Suor Angelica in Sicily under the direction of Maestro Leonardo Catalanotto. This year she will be reprising this dramatic role in Berlin with the Berlin Opera Academy as well as touring with TransAtlanticOpera in Canada and the USA.
